Do I need to submit my textbook questions to my teacher?

No.  The textbook questions are for your own practice.  You should be doing as many questions as you need to do to understand the learning guide expectations.  You should also be checking your answers in the answer part of the textbook as you go along so you know if you are doing them correctly or not.

How do I write my tests?

When you are ready for a test, e-mail your teacher to arrange for when/where you will take your test.  Please let your teacher know what course and learning guide quiz you will be writing.  If you are writing your test under the supervision of an adult at a school, please also indicate the name and email address of the supervising adult.  Tests should be emailed back to your teacher as a PDF combined into 1 file.

Is testing any different for adult students?

Test supervision for adult students is done on the “honour system”.  Your teacher will provide details.

How do I get help?

If you are stuck, e-mail your teacher.  Depending on the situation, your teacher may e-mail you a solution to the problem, they may send you a short video on how to solve the problem, or they may meet you at a convenient time on Zoom to get help one-on-one.

I went into the Zoom room but my teacher wasn’t there.  What happened?

Use of the Zoom room is by appointment; email your teacher to set up a convenient time to meet.

Can I get in-person help?

Yes.  Contact your teacher to arrange for a time to meet in person.

Can I get help during the weekends & school holidays?

On the weekends, do not expect a response from your teachers, although they may be times on the weekend when emails are responded to.  Teachers will be offline during holiday periods.

Are there mandatory class times?

There are no mandatory class times.  Online Zoom help is available upon request.

How long do I have to finish the course?

You have ONE calendar year to finish your course, beginning from the date of your “Welcome” email.

What about a final exam in the course?

If the course has a final exam, it must be written in a supervised setting.  Contact your teacher to make those arrangements.

I want to finish by June.  When do I have to have everything handed in?

This will be updated when we know the calendar for 2022-2023.

What is a journal?

You may notice in the learning guides to make an entry in your math journal. This is just your set of notes about the concepts you are learning. If you already have the information in your notes from watching the video, you don’t need to add anything to your journal.  You do not need to submit your journal to your teacher.

I can’t seem to log into e-Class.  What is my login/password?

For math courses with CLC with Mr. Radom or Ms. Tsang, e-Class access is not required.

What do I do if I don’t have a printer?

You are welcome to summarize the provided questions and submit photos/scans of your workings and answers on a separate piece of paper(s).  On your submission, be sure you include (1) the course, (2) the learning guide #, (3) the test/quiz version, and (4) your name.

How do I send my teacher photos? 

To send photos over e-mail, most students take photos of the work/tests and then go to combinepdf.com to convert the photos into a pdf file.  Please be sure to send you test as a PDF combined into 1 file.
